Abstract

Aim
This paper investigates the impact of Ashtanga Yoga on stress and anxiety management in participants before and after a 21-day period.

Concept/Methods
Participants, varying in age, profession, and demographics, took part in a 21-day online workshop organized by the Satvic yoga community, a subsidiary of the Satvic movement. Their responses were recorded through a digital questionnaire designed on Google Forms. The study reflects on how modern lifestyles—characterized by busy schedules, sedentary habits, unhealthy diets, and work-related pressures—have contributed to widespread stress and anxiety.

Results and Conclusion:

The study highlights that stress has become an almost normalized part of daily life, and mindfulness practices, such as yoga, are highly effective in managing stress. Yoga, which has been practiced for thousands of years, remains a potent tool not only for reducing stress but also for alleviating symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other physical manifestations of stress.

Research Restrictions:

The study is limited by the self-reported nature of the data and the online format, which may have impacted the accuracy of the responses.

Practical Application

The findings support the inclusion of yoga and mindfulness practices as practical tools for stress and anxiety management, especially in today’s fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Cognitive Value

This study reinforces the ongoing relevance of ancient yoga practices in contemporary stress management, offering insights into the benefits of yoga in daily life through empirical data collected during the 21-day workshop.
